Hinowa LightLift 20.10 Outriggers Show Not Set
Fault Codes & Symptoms
Boom functions disabled; control panel shows outriggers are not set. Related symptoms: - Boom functions intermittently disabled. - Warning alarms sounding without a clear cause. - Outrigger-related fault codes (if applicable). The lift basket and boom will not raise. The control panel shows the outrigger legs are not down, but they are all on the ground and the machine is level.
Confirmed cause: The wiring harness for the right rear outrigger position sensor was pinched and internally broken where it flexed near the chassis pivot. Repair performed: The damaged section of the wiring harness was repaired. The broken wire was spliced using a sealed butt connector. The damaged sheathing was repaired and extra abrasion protection was added. The harness was then rerouted slightly and secured to prevent it from being pinched again. Verification: After the repair, the outriggers were cycled. The machine control panel now correctly showed all four outriggers were set. All boom functions were enabled and operated normally. The diagnostic menu showed a stable "set" signal from the right rear sensor. Technician notes: - This type of intermittent electrical issue is common on articulated equipment where harnesses flex repeatedly. - Always check for diagnostic menus or status indicators before starting to test individual components. - When repairing a harness, ensure it is routed and secured to prevent the same failure from happening again.
