Kubota SVL75-2 Intermittent Auxiliary Hydraulics
Fault Codes & Symptoms
Intermittent loss of all auxiliary hydraulic functions. Related symptoms: - Uncommanded function activation (if shorting to a power source). - Other electrical faults if multiple wires are damaged. The auxiliary hydraulics cut out intermittently. Sometimes they work for an hour, sometimes for a minute. It seems to happen more when turning or on rough ground. Cycling the key sometimes brings them back temporarily.
Confirmed cause: A single wire within the main chassis harness was chafed and intermittently shorting to ground. The damage was located under the cab where the harness was rubbing against a chassis bracket. Repair performed: The damaged section of the wire was cut out and replaced using a sealed environmental splice. The harness was repaired with anti-abrasion loom tape. The harness was then secured away from the bracket using a new P-clamp to prevent future rubbing. Verification: The cab was lowered and all functions were tested. The machine was operated for an extended period, including sharp turns and driving over obstacles, with no loss of auxiliary hydraulic function. Voltage at the solenoid remained stable throughout the test. Technician notes: - This type of chafing issue is common on machines where harnesses are not properly secured. The intermittent short-to-ground can be difficult to diagnose without trying to replicate the operating conditions that cause it. - Always check harness routing and security after any repair under the cab.
