Snorkel A62JRT Jib and Rotator Functions Slow
Fault Codes & Symptoms
Jib and rotator functions are extremely slow. Related symptoms: - A complete failure of the flow divider could lead to a total loss of jib and rotator function. - Slightly reduced speed in other functions on the same valve bank. The jib boom and the platform rotator are very slow to respond and move. All other boom functions seem to be at normal speed.
Confirmed cause: Failed flow divider for the jib and rotator valve section. A crack in the divider body was allowing pressurized oil to leak directly back to the tank, starving the workports of required flow. Repair performed: Removed the affected proportional valve section from the main valve bank. Disassembled the section and replaced the cracked flow divider with a new part. Reassembled and reinstalled the valve section. Verification: Cycled the jib lift and platform rotator functions multiple times. Both functions now operate at normal speed and power, responding correctly to joystick inputs. Technician notes: - This valve section used a specific flow divider to split flow between the jib and rotator proportional solenoids. - The crack was not visible until the valve section was disassembled. - Always cap hydraulic lines and ports immediately after disconnecting to prevent contamination.
