Niftylift SD64 Boom Functions Inoperative, Foot Switch Not Detected
Fault Codes & Symptoms
No boom functions operate from the platform controls. Related symptoms: - Intermittent loss of platform controls. - No response from any function on the platform console. The machine will drive, but none of the boom functions work from the basket. The foot switch seems to be dead.
Confirmed cause: One wire in the main control harness was severed at the platform entry gate hinge, interrupting the foot switch signal. Repair performed: Spliced the broken wire using a sealed, heat-shrink butt connector. Repaired the outer sheathing of the harness with electrical tape and loom. Secured the harness away from the pinch point using a new P-clamp to prevent repeat failure. Verification: Started the machine, entered the platform, and pressed the foot switch. All boom lift and drive functions operated correctly from the platform controls. Cycled the entry gate several times while observing the harness to confirm it was no longer being pinched. Technician notes: - Harness damage at the platform gate is common on this style of boom lift. - Always check high-flex and potential pinch point areas when troubleshooting control circuit issues. - Advised the operator to be mindful of harness routing when operating the gate.
