Work lights and wiper inoperative Related symptoms: - Intermittent operation of wipers or lights prior to complete failure. The operator reports that the front work lights and the windshield wiper stopped working at the same time. All other cab functions seem to be working correctly.
Confirmed cause: A single, partially disconnected multi-pin electrical connector behind the main fuse panel was the cause of the power interruption to both the work light and wiper control circuits. Repair performed: The connector was securely re-seated. The locking tab was engaged to prevent it from vibrating loose again. No parts were required. Verification: With the connector secured, the technician turned the key to the ON position. The work lights were turned on via the switch and illuminated. The wiper was turned on and operated through all its speed settings. The repair was verified. Technician notes: - This was an intermittent problem for a week before the final failure. The operator noted the lights flickered once or twice. - The location of the connector made it difficult to see without removing an access panel below the main console. - Always suspect a shared connection point when multiple, seemingly unrelated electrical components fail at the exact same time.
