Niftylift HR12 Randomly Shuts Down on Uneven Ground
Fault Codes & Symptoms
Machine shuts down completely Related symptoms: - Intermittent loss of all machine functions. - Power cutting out and then immediately returning. - Inability to restart after shutting down. The machine will be running fine, then when driving across the yard, it just dies completely. It usually happens when crossing a rough patch. Sometimes it will restart right away, other times we have to wait a few minutes.
Confirmed cause: A previously repaired wire feeding power to the main relay coil had failed internally at the butt connector. Repair performed: Cut out the failed butt connector and approximately 2 inches of wire on either side to remove any compromised sections. Spliced in a new section of wire using sealed, heat-shrink solder connectors. Re-loomed the harness and secured it properly. Verification: The machine was driven extensively over the roughest available ground on the site, including up and down slopes and over obstacles. The random shutdown fault did not reoccur. Technician notes: - This fault highlights the importance of quality harness repairs. A simple crimp is often not sufficient in high-vibration environments. - When a fault happens over bumps, always suspect a connection issue first. - A "wiggle test" is an effective way to locate intermittent open circuits without having to perform extensive circuit testing.
