No response from drive controls (forward or reverse). Related symptoms: - Intermittent loss of drive - Machine drives in one direction only The machine will not drive. We can lift, swing, and steer, but it won't move forward or backward. It was working fine yesterday.
Confirmed cause: Internal failure of the drive controller's output driver circuit. The controller was unable to send the command signal to the drive pump. Repair performed: Replaced the machine's drive controller. The new controller required basic configuration and calibration per the manufacturer's service procedure. Verification: After replacing and configuring the controller, all drive functions (forward and reverse) operated correctly and proportionally with joystick input. All other machine functions remained operational. Technician notes: - This fault can be intermittent at first, making it difficult to diagnose. If the controller is not sending the signal, always perform a pin-out test at the controller connector to rule out a harness issue before condemning the controller. - Confirming the controller has proper power and ground is a critical first step that was assumed good here since other functions worked.
