Platform will not level; functions locked out. Related symptoms: - Function lockout - Constant alarm The machine alarms and stops working when I try to raise or telescope the boom. The basket looks tilted.
Confirmed cause: Failed platform level sensor. The sensor had an internal fault causing it to send erroneous and unstable angle data to the controller. Repair performed: Replaced the platform level sensor. The new sensor was installed and calibrated successfully using the service software. Verification: After replacing and calibrating the sensor, all boom functions operated normally. The machine was raised to full height and articulated through its full range of motion with no leveling alarms. Technician notes: - The sensor failure was not immediately obvious as power and ground were good. Testing the signal output directly was key. - Always perform the calibration procedure after replacing this sensor. - An out-of-level condition can also be caused by hydraulic issues (e.g., leaking slave cylinder) or mechanical binding, but the immediate electrical fault code pointed away from those causes.
