Takeuchi TB260 One Track Slower Than The Other

Fault Codes & Symptoms

No active codes

One track travels noticeably slower than the other, causing the machine to pull to one side. Related symptoms: - Machine pulls to one side during travel. - Gradual loss of power in a specific hydraulic function. - Unusual heat buildup around the center of the machine. The machine won't travel straight. The right side track is much slower than the left, especially after the machine has been working for a while.

Verified Repair

Confirmed cause: Internal leakage in the rotary manifold (swivel joint) due to a failed seal for the right track travel circuit. Repair performed: Replaced all seals in the rotary manifold assembly. The housing and shaft sealing surfaces were inspected for scoring or wear and found to be in good condition. The manifold was reassembled and reinstalled. Verification: Operated the machine in forward and reverse travel for an extended period. Both tracks operated at the same speed, and the machine was able to travel in a straight line without correction. All other hydraulic functions were also verified. Technician notes: - When the problem moves sides after swapping hoses, it immediately rules out the final drive and motor, saving significant diagnostic time. - Always order a complete seal kit for the rotary manifold. It is not worth the labor to open it up and only replace one seal. - Marking hose orientation before disconnecting them from the rotary manifold is critical for correct reassembly.
