No crank, no power to platform controls Related symptoms: - No power to any upper controls. - Display at platform is blank. - Engine will not crank from platform. - No response from any joystick or switch at platform controls. Operator reports the machine will not start or move from the basket. The lower controls work to start and run the engine.
Confirmed cause: The normally closed contacts inside the platform emergency stop switch had failed open-circuit. Repair performed: Replaced the platform emergency stop switch assembly. Verification: After replacing the switch, the platform display powered on correctly. The engine started and all boom functions operated normally from the platform. The emergency stop function was tested and confirmed to work correctly. Technician notes: - This fault can be confusing because the lower controls work perfectly. Always check the platform E-stop first in a "no power to platform" scenario. - A continuity test across the E-stop switch terminals (with it disconnected) would also have confirmed the internal failure. - The failure was internal to the switch; there were no external signs of damage or corrosion.
