JLG 600AJ Platform Load Sensing System (LSS) Calibration and Faults

Symptoms

• Red overload warning light flashes at the platform and ground consoles
• An intermittent or solid high-volume buzzer sounds at the platform
• All boom and drive functions are completely disabled except for emergency recovery
• Fault code 4-4 or related load pins display actively on the hand-held analyzer

Possible Causes

• Debris, gravel, or packed mud lodged in the physical gap of the load protection frame
• Internal shift or damage to the dual strain-gauge load pins/cells
• Loss of calibration memory within the GCM relative to the platform basket weight
• Damaged load cell sensor cable run or corroded platform junction box terminals

   Examine the dynamic mechanical platform support structure. Carefully clear away any foreign material, concrete splatters, or physical obstructions lodged between the floating seat bracket and the structural arm.

   Disconnect the platform's load cell sensor plug. Measure terminal resistance with the DMM. Read signal output lines to check for any internal short circuits or completely severed coil paths within the load cell cluster.

   Insert the JLG Analyzer in the diagnostic link. Navigate to 'Diagnostics > Sensors > Load Cell'. Read raw voltage or weight measurements. If values read full capacity or blank out, suspect a failed sensor pin.

   Place the machine on flat, level ground. Empty the platform basket of all tools and personal gear. Initiate the load sensor calibration procedure through the analyzer. Access standard settings, apply exact weights as instructed by technical specifications, and safe-record values.
