John Deere 1025R Three-Point Hitch/Mid Mount Lift Failure Diagnostic

Symptoms
- Mower deck stuck at current height selection setting
- Hitch shakes rapidly while attempting to raise heavy implements
- Hydraulic loader operates normally but rear hitch has zero lift lift response
Possible Causes
- Improperly adjusted or closed structural Rate of Drop feedback knob
- Stuck bypass valve spool inside mechanical selective control valve (SCV)
- Stripped rear lift cylinder shaft mechanical attachment splines
Diagnostic Procedure
- 1Inspect Rate-of-Drop Adjustment Knob PositionLocate the rate-of-drop dial beneath front seat bracket. Ensure it is not screwed inward to full closed position (which locks exhaust hydraulic flow out of the lift piston).
- 2Verify SCV Lever Diverter SettingEnsure tractor hydraulic diverter valve underneath floorboards is fully engaged for mower/backhoe function rather than split to front loader cylinders exclusively.
- 3Conduct Hitch Lift Pressure CheckInstall hydraulic gauge down into rear rockshaft hydraulic signal line. Initiate lever pull. If pressure climbs above 1,800 to 2,000 psi but linkage fails to move, look for structural hardware binding.
