JCB JS130 Sluggish Hydraulic Cycle Times and High Oil Temp

The hydraulic system of the JS130 excavator operates normally when first cranked, but performance degrades severely after approximately 30 minutes of heavy run-time. Hydraulic cycle speeds slow down significantly, and the dashboard high-temperature light glows.

    Remove and inspect the hydraulic thermal bypass cartridge. Place the sensor block in water, heat the water, and observe if the piston moves. An stuck-open plug directs oil directly poolward instead of sending cold flow through cooling loops.

    Locate the main hydraulic pump case drain line. Safely route the hose line into a measured drum block to check internal bypass flow during deadhead pressure lock.
